This book was started off the fly about a month before I posted the first part. I yearned for a reason to get into the fight but in my early years I simply wished to play the game solo. This made wars rather unatractive as I saw what it dd to another person who tried this. The money conscernes behind it all meant that eventually he was put off eve for life and has since left the game.

I found it rather hard to be able to post arguments against comments made by Amarrian loyalists when I am not in the fight, even if to try and provide a diplomatic avenue. So I whipped up a couple of story lines to lead into my application to Freelance Unincorporated and join the fight. The difference from the last book being that this is all in game life now and not background stuff like Solaris.

As the story has developed, I feel the name, Penumbra, has become very appropriate to the theme. It is like an impending darkness ready to swallow Darius whole. I feel that I have gotten Darius' character just the way I like it in this book. Post 'Tides', Darius becomes very moody and once he climbs out of his depression, he is quite simply unsociable to say the least. Chapter 3 of Penumbra displays this better once he has joined Freelance Unincorporated.

As you read, there are several dull moments, and the storyline becomes a little complex and will require some imagination on the readers part. That, to me, is a curse of writing. The author knows exactly what he means. I am sure many of the more professional authors out there suffer the same, wondering if the reader will understand it all as clear as it is in their own mind.

Still, it is all leading to something fun. I guess you will just have to stick around to find out the rest.
